i know this is a recurring topic, but im gonna ask again anyway....

how long does it take for my puffy face and tummy to go away after prednisone????

yesterday was my last day, so im off it now! woo hoo..

oh, and my puffy feet?  (only at night)

is that water retention or something else?

oh, and my shins hurt at night time too.

like someone hit them both with a hammer.

is that the pred as well?

Hi Kazygirl -- I started noticing a difference right away, but it took about six months for me to really notice that the puffy face had diminished. I couldn't really tell in the mirror, but when I had a picture taken, I noticed the difference. It's possible that the pred is also causing the shin pain as I too had different aches and pains. Hopefully that will diminish too along with the puffiness. Take care and congrats on weaning off the pred! :-)

The first time I took prednisone, it took about 6 months for the "round face" and weight to go away. This last time I took it, the weight was gone within a month. My diet and exercise were the same both times so I really have no clue as to why my body reacted differently the last time.

wow... 6 months. that sucks.
i hope this goes away quicker. i didnt have moon face or any weight gain at all until this last week on 5mg to nothing.
how crappy is that.
i was hoping to get away with it, but it got me in the end.
i hope it is a temporary thing!!!

weird about the feet tho. is that normal?
does anybody else get puffy feet in the evening?

Well, you just never know -- since the moonface came on so fast, maybe it will disapear quickly too! :-) I'm so hoping that's the case for you. Take care, and keep us updated.

i sure hope it goes away just as fast.
i can see the scales go up in hours..

oh, and now i am itchy all over.

what the hell is going on?
i would say i could be allergic to some meds, but i just got off of them all...

anyone have any ideas?

I thought you were still on pred? Great you're off it.

Check your skin and eyeballs/lower eyelids...do they look a bit yellowish?

You should, however, call the doc and tell him you're itchy all over...for being on the pred and then off it may have masked something.

Let us know what the doc suggests.
