Awesome and very informative Judy. But, geez - I must've got bit by the curiosity bug lately! When I read this:

In one 10−year study, 87% of patients went into complete remission after a single attack and only 8% developed a chronic persistent condition.

Surely this can't be right???

Yeah, I thought that too. Maybe it was just that one study, or maybe it's just that only those of us who have a lot of trouble come here.

Of course, I suppose you could say I went into remission after a single attack. The thing is, that single attack lasted from 2001 until 2006.

Yeah, that doesn't seem right, especially since later the article states 20% of UC patients eventually have to get their colons removed.
