There are a few things you can try but I'm not sure if they will work or not. My SIL gets sinus infections all the time and tries to ride them out. She almost always ends up on antibiotics eventually. But you can try cleaning your sinuses out with a Netti Pot, or a saline nose spray. You can start on Zicam - though I'm not sure this would work with a sinus infection. If you're not allergic to bees, you can start taking Bee Propolis. This is a anti-inflammatory and anti-biotic with natural properties since it is made by bees. This can also beneficial for Uc too btw. I gather that you have a sinus infection now? If you do have to start antibiotics, if you don't take probiotics you can eat yogurt while taking antibiotics. This will help lessen any symptoms that you will get from the antibiotic.

Check out the neti pot. It's getting alot of rave reviews since it was presented on Oprah.

I used to get about
3 to 4 sinus infections per year, now I use the neti pot daily when I'm getting sick, I get prescript
ion strength sudafed too.
That pretty much does it, I take extra strength tylenol for the pain. I haven't gone on antibiotics for a year.
There's lots of research out now that antibiotics don't actually do anything for the sinus infection anyway, that by the time we get on them they were about
to end anyway.
So I would at least get the sudafed from behind the pharmacist counter (not the sudafed pe, it doesn't work) or go to your dr. and get the prescript
ion strength stuff.

I'm in so much pain due to a sinus infection. I'm taking Sudafed, using Saline Nasal Mist, taking hot showers, eating spicy food. The snot gets flushed out, and then comes back again :(

We swear by Sudafed Non-Drying Sinus. I think the key ingredient is the Guaifenesin (Robitussin) as it thins the mucus to keep it flowing out of there. My husband is prone to sinus infections and he was Rx'd a prescript
ion strength decongestant that also had the guaifenesin so whenever we feel one coming on we take the Sudafed Non-Drying and it really seems to help. Drink lots of fluids, too.
We've never used the Netti Pots, but I have heard great things about
them!
Good luck and hope you're feeling better soon.
