Any home remedies for fissure pain?  My poor daughter is having a hard time.  Were trying to add more fiber and water to diet, hot baths and prep H but she is in a lot of pain.

Sitz bath with the hottest water she can stand,as often as possible, prep H with anaesthetic.

A good probiotic seems to keep mine from flaring up.

You really have to make sure there is not a big ball of puss in there due to an abscess.

In the past I have had to have emergency surgery for a large abscess, not fun.

last year my daughter had a fissure and the gi gave her a nitroglycerin ointment
and it had her feeling better quickly,the fissure healed. she also took the warm baths. i don't remember how many times a day she used it bu that is important since it is absorbed through the skin.i know it's not a home remedy , but she was so uncomfortable so we went to the dr. other ointments did not help.

nitroglycerin ointment - is that by prescription only?

yes it is, and i'm pretty sure it is a heart med, but that is why the gi was very specific about not over using.
but it worked to heal it and it stayed healed even through the d she has been having a year later.
