can Colazal help this quickly??

Yesterday morning I saw my GI. I have been nauseous, having frequency and urgency, and just really not feeling very well, not eating that much. He switched me off Asacol to Colzal and today, literally exactly 24 hours and 4 doses of Colazal later, I feel so much better. Not all symptoms are gone, but my appetite is returning, and I am less exhausted. My GI had said that the Asacol could be making me sick, so it might just be getting off Asacol that helped, but he also said that Colazal could make me feel better in as little as 2 days, if it was a good drug for me. But, I just didn't believe him. I guess I figured that if I need Imuran, how can a milder drug be of any use to me. But, maybe I am wrong??? Have any of you has such a dramatic and quick turn around on Colazal? thanks.

Colazal was MY big break-through in UC treatment! Asacol did not agree with me; it's supposed to start dissolving in the terminal ileum & is said to require a certain pH level to disperse in the most beneficial way. Colazal breaks down inside the colon, which seems better for many of us UCers. Great to read that you're already feeling much improved!!!!!!!! / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
