I didn't notice any symptoms for 5 years. Then, as I was about to start my student teaching (august 06) i started having more bm's and some pain with a bit of D. I called my Gi because I wanted to head anything off before it got a chance to get really bad, he did a scope and said I was inflamed and my UC had spread. I went back on asacol and rowasa. Then in dec 06, after my student teaching, I went full on flare. 30 trips a day, blood, pain, it was like a switch went off.
Through the few months that i was on rowasa and asacol my symptoms stayed about the same but I must admit i was way too busy to notice anyway. it was my last semester of school I was busy 70 hrs a week. I think that as soon as I was able to sit down and take a breath is when it really hit me. It's like my body knew I needed to keep going for just a little while longer. But my Gi told me it was pan before the heavy symptoms started.
It was later in 07 that i had another scope that we discovered strictures as well. I'm still working on remission. I have another scope coming up in the next few weeks becuase I just can't seem to kick the pain and d. plus about 6 trips to the potty a day. Oh and steroid dependent. I've been on pred since jan of last year.
I was rather suprised when he told me how bad my uc had gotten becuase I had so few symptoms at that time. Now i see. The inflamation had spread but didn't get too severe until later.
