how do i know when im starting having a flare up

seems a stupid question i am sure some of u say,

i had a unsettled nite, bad tummy, got up twice feeling sick althou i wasnt, had my first cup of tea with a banana with my pills, and from then on in, in 3 hours i have been 6 times, i have had some pretty good pain in my tummy, been back to bed, as its touch and go wether i can make the loo from downstairs,

this will be my first flare up since diagnoses and i know to get my prednisalone i have to see the dr for the first time, well if i have diorriha, i cant make it? i feel pretty crap althou not bad bad bad

any ideas?

Hi Maud, and welcome to the forum. When is your doctor appointment? If the pain or d get any worse, I'd call and ask to get in right away. In the meantime, try a heating pad for the cramping or some Tylenol. If you are worried about having an accident while in the doc's office, try wearing a pad or some adult disposable underwear and carry an extra with you. This has worked well for me in the past and it helped to ease my mind. Take care, and remember if you aren't feeling well, call the doc and get in asap. Oh, and there are no stupid questions on this forum....ask anything you want! We've all been in the same spot, so we like to make sure we can help and give all the support folks need.

Sometimes I get sick like that from something I ate and after I go to the bathroom a bunch of times then it stops. Sometimes it doesn't stop for days, but I always tell myself it is going to stop and try to rest as much as I can if possible. If you keep getting worse, you could call your doctor and leave a message for him asking what you should do.  You could leave them the number of your pharmacy if the doctor needs to call in a presciption for you. I hope you feel better soon.

thank you both. plus jen for talking me throu it on msn, the dr has been and given me 5 days of 8 a day prednisalone, so 2 days off work and i will call work on sunday night,

complete rest will help do the trick x

I couldn't agree more.Rest is so important.I hope you get some relief soon.Hopefully the short dose of Pred will do the trick.
