Hi again,

I'm going to make an "emergency" kit for Hailey to carry in her backpack when she goes back to school. I know the obvious things like a change of clothes, underware, wipes, baby powder, but am wondering if there is anything I'm missing. Any ideas? I want her to be prepared just incase of an accident as the urgency she was getting only left her barely 30 seconds from the time she felt she had to go until the time she actually couldn't hold it anymore.

I would add a small bottle of body splash spray for the odor while changing in the bathroom. Or can she wear pads? I assume that you've already spoken with her teachers to explain her situation so she can leave immediately if needed.

I hope that she adjusts back in school with no problems, I know how kids can "over stress" about little things and I really feel for your daughter having to deal with this huge issue at such a young age. Hopefully being so well prepared will give her comfort.

How many times have us girls in school gotten their period during school without anything and had to go the whole day worrying about someone noticing. Or started throwing up without warning in class or on the bus and had to go home. Maybe hearing stories like that will help your daughter realize that accidents happen in school with other kids that are perfectly healthy will help her not feel so alone.

I hope that she is on the road to recovery and doesn't have to worry about accidents!

In addition to all those things, we keep a portable potty in the trunk of our car. Just in case we are somewhere where we can't find a place in enough time. We also keep a blanket in the car to cover up with. That way, nobody has to know what we are doing. We got ours at REI.com, or any camping store. Wish your daughter the best and hope she feels better soon.

  You may have already thought of it but put in a few ziploc bags so she has a place to put the old clothes/unders.  I like the freezer ones (they are like blue tinted) because they seem a lot thicker than just regular bags.

it might sound silly, but is there a little comforting object (or even a note) that you could slip in the kit. that way, if she does have an accident there will be something that calms her down, makes her feel a little less ashamed, etc. just a thought...good luck!

I've been putting an emergency kit together whenever I'm traveling (I've not had to use it......as yet!). 

Apart from the things already mentioned I also have: a Depends (disposable underwear, just in case I have got to be out and things flare up really badly) travel-size antibacterial hand gel, travel-size pack of antibacterial wipes (just in case, the toilet doesn't look too clean), a bottle of Ensure, Tylenol.

Feminine napkin (pads) there's nothing wrong with her wearing them on a daily basis, it could save her the hassles of having to completely change undies and pants if it's a small enough accident.

I wear the Always overnight pads. They are very slim & extra wide in the back.

This will be good for school, travel, and everyday life just "incase"
