what are possible problems during childbirth?

is there anything that could really go horribly wrong during the birth?
i mean as long as there is no flare going on.

does anyone know or know where i could find out (aside from asking my GI)?

i know you'll all think i'm batty, but i'm considering a homebirth.
i'd really like to not be in the hospital for this one, but of course not at the expense of our safety.

The only thing I can think of that my GI told me to worry about was if the baby got too big.  I guess if the baby gets too big and you tear completely through to your rectum it is very difficult to heal with UC.  For this reason, I was induced 2 weeks early (with my second, no precautions on the first), had an emergency c-section, and a 10# kid.  I think your OB will be able to tell if you will have a big kid or not.  Not to scare you, but that was my concern.  Good luck with your pregnancy and birth.

ok i have to say, epidurals are your friend! but anyway, i think the main problem, is like they said, about you tearing. Also, UC babies, can sometimes be a little sluggish at birth, nothing bad, just a little lethargic.
