I just had a GI appointment today and in the course of the conversation with my GI he revealed to me that he doesn't think I have a clear cut case of Ulcerative Colitis.
He was looking at my scope results and biopsy results. What they didn't see in my scope was a lot of blood or bleeding. What they did see however were "a bunch of white dots all over my colin". (Sorry for the lack of scientific verbage, I asked him to dumb it down so I could understand) So it is a form of colitus.
What we are doing now is scrubbing all forms of medication except for the pred and dropping me down from 30 down to 0 over the next month and a half 5 MG a week and then from 10 to 7.5 and 7.5 to 5. I'm going to hold at 5 until my next visit on the 29th of April.
He said that there is a possibility that it could just go away. And from what I've read about minor colitis it can be "cured" by something as simple as a diet change at times. If I don't have a flare then we're just going to hope and pray that I'm done with this messy busniess.
Please thoughts and comments. I'm really really hopeful here but at the same time scared that it might all fall through on me.
