need some help!!

I've never heard that you can have actual clots from bleeding hemmies, but that doesn't mean it's not so, however to me it seems unlikely, if I was bleeding clots from my butt I'd be going to the ER myself.

I've been to the ER only once, and I was helicoptered in. Nothing to do with UC. Emergency rooms are basically there to stabilize you and keep you alive until you can get to your doctor. If you're a trauma or heart attack patient, that involves a lot of care, delivered quickly. If you have a chronic problem of any kind, it's fluids and steroids for UC, nebulizer and meds for asthma, stitches and antibiotics for a cut. And you usually wait until the trauma/heart attack group is done.

Many ER's will give you enough medication for about five days and tell you to follow up with your doctor. The problem is, a lot of people skip that step because they feel better. Then the cause for their ER trip never gets appropriate treatment and just keeps coming back.

I'd rather go to my own docs, even if that means I can't wait until I absolutely can't function any more. They have my records, know what's been tried, what worked and what didn't. They also know how my body reacts to various treatments.

When i first started bleeding in the summer of 06 i called my doc after a month of not telling anyone and hiding it. I finally thought i was going to die and called to make an appointment. And told the nurse my symptoms and she called back and said it was just hemorrhoids and nothing to worry about it will stop and go away on its own. I ignored it and still didn't really tell any one. I bleed for 4 months with urgency and D before going into the hospital because i was vomiting and dizzy and they did a CBC and found my blood count was a 6! (it should be around a 12 or 14) so..... now i don't wait any sign of a problem and I go in right away. And it worries me that your GI is doing the same thing, don't ignore the problem. It is not normal to have blood especially if it is getting worse! Don't think it will just go away on its own, because with experience it doesn't just "go away" it just gets worse and then i end up needing blood transfusions and a hospital stay (which are not fun) and with out a colonoscopy they can not tell the difference between hemorrhoids and UC!
