Does any one else mornings from hell?  The first 2-3 hours I'm up I have cramps and frequent bathroom trips than I'm fine for the rest of the day.  I'm thinking it might because I take my last meds around 6-7 pm and by the time I get up and 8 they've all worn off?

Mine is the worst too. I get up at 6am and by 8am I'm ok. I'm on no medication either, so what gives? It sucks so bad. I'm fine for the rest of the day most of the time. I have a lot of gurgeling in the morning and I have to go right to the bathroom for the smelly mucus to pass then the stool comes out long and skinny with pointed sides like a playdough machine. Need I say more????

This the running theory here. When we sleep, so does our colon. When we wake up, it stimulates the colon into action. I am the same way even in remission, but while in remission, I can go to the bathroom minus the pain and urgency. I just happen to go 2 or 3 times within an hour - but then again it can be from the coffee I drink too.

This is a common complaint for most IBDers (Cd and UC), most, if not almost all of us have the worst time in the mornings...what a way to start everyday eh!

Yeah my boss keeps asking me to come to mexico on his private plane and depart at 6am in the morning. There's a bathroom aboard, right next to the pilots. I wore depends one year down to Florida, come one I would just like once to go somewhere without worry about my butt.

Hey let's try power prayer ok? I will put that in the next post...look for it.

i have nauseaous feeling when i wake up everyday and after drinking green tea i get relief...do all UC sufferers are nauseous most of the time?

Not all the time. Sometimes when I have to go to the bathroom I get a very sick feeling and then I poop, like today at Walgreens.

Every morning!! When i have to work at 730 I am up by 430. Though with this flare not ending it seems that its for 6 or 7 hours after i get up. Ooh and I get a really sick feeling every time I poop too. It's a nice warning signal. If you don't mind nausea and dizziness.

I'm about to try getting up at 6am so by the time 9am rolls around I'm good to go at work. That god I work in a large office with mutliple bathrooms over 8 floors

yep, my mornings are the same.  I plan my life around being home for the first 2 hours after waking.  Rest of the day is fine.  I like the playdough machine description.  My poops have looked like that for years.

yes, my doctor wont' let me off it though I don't even know what good it's doing now. I am supposed to be starting remicade soon. but my doc wanted to do a colonscopy first so he could basically get a 'before' picture (next thurday 8am)

I'm supposed to start remicade after that but I had to start a pred cycle this week because my flare was so bad. so now I think I'll have to cylcle off the pred before I start the remicade.

When I was flaring, I got up at 5:00 just so I could leave for work by 8. Now that I'm in remission, I still start out slowly, but I only need two hours and I can get by with 45 minutes if I need to.

Same type of morning today but tapering a little bit, now I'm on my 3rd day of PRED, though I did have blood first thing this morning which i have not had since in two days.

Colonoscopy thursday morning, I'm actually looking forward to it.
