Hi- so recently I was experiencing some of the symptoms of UC, nausea, fever, diarrhea, horrible abdominal pain among others. I'm at college so after 2 days of extreme pain I went to health services. They sent me to the ER. I got diagnosed with UC, but I wasn't prescribed anything I was just told to drink water. I went to my primary care doctor but by then everything was fine, so she told me I didn't need any treatment since I wasn't in pain. However, since then I have been having some of the same symptoms on a much milder basis, but the same abdominal pain, diarrhea but nothing as bad as the first time. It is still painful, and it still interferes with my daily life, but I can still go to class, exercise, etc. Should I go back to my doctor? Is there anything she can do to help with these little symptoms or should I just drink water and wait for them to go away?? If I was at home I would go, but since I'm at school it's a huge pain to go to my doctor since I miss class and I don't have a car on campus. I'm just so unfamiliar with UC and since it's so new to me I don't know what to expect. Is it worth a trip back to the doctor???
