a few questions

First, I was diagnosed with UC/proctitis about two years ago, took asacol for about two months, and have been completely fine until the last week or so.  I was convinced that I didn't even have the UC because I had lyme disease at the same time and I thought it was just a symptom of the lyme for sure.  Over the last week or two it seems like I have been having mucous and a little bit of blood.  Is this a flare up?  How long do these last?  Has anyone ever heard of UC sypmtoms with lyme?  The second question is, I am im the process of applying to a job where I have to submit a medical history form which specifically asked if I have ever had a gastro-intestinal disorder.  I am worried they might dq me if I tell them I was diagnosed with UC (it's a physical job).  Does anyone have any comments?  Am I required to disclose this.  I figure if somehow they find out I can just say it was lyme. 

as long as you can do your job, I don't think they can let you go for having UC.

Also, I had periods of remission w/no meds, I had procosigmoiditis and now I have pancolitis. Dont delay call your Doc, you need to be healthy and it can get much, much worse.

Thanks for the responses. I haven't been on asacol for about two years, and haven't seen the gastro since then. I figure I'll ride it out for a week or two and see what happens, and if it gets worse, i'll schedule an appointment. I decided not to tell the prospective employer, and I answered no to the gastro questions on the med. history forms. I hope this doesn't come back to haunt me.

It takes a while to get into my GI.  What about scheduling an appt and then if you don't need it, cancel.  Better to have one then wait til you need one and then have to wait another month.  I don't know what to tell you about the job.  It sounds really unethical to ask those questions especially since I can not think of any job that UC would disqualify you for.  (Unless there are no toilets there).  Good luck and let us know what happens
