Dear all, do people with UC have a more difficult time recovering from colds/flu?

Maybe not the flu but definately a cold. It sometimes takes me about
2-3 weeks to get rid of it. But for odd reason, now that I'm on 6mp and I get sick - it's gone within 4 days. Not that I'm complaining! However, when I DO get sick - I get SICK! I'm talking about
running high fevers (102-103) that hit in a matter of hours.

YES YES YES in my opinion. Longer and more colds.
Sometimes I will get a cold, almost get over it then back to having a cold again.
Doc's now say 80% of our immune system is in our digestive tract and us with
UC the tract is all jacked up. This year I started filling my gut with friendly bacteria
with good results. I have only got sick once this winter and that was a sore throat for
one day. Felt like I was going to get a cold once but it never fully developed.
Usually I will get sick at least for times a winter and always get one summer cold.
Hopefully it is the friendly bacteria and not a coincidence.

I usually have some form of a cold. I'm always blowing my nose--I can't get away from it. I don't think it makes my UC symptoms worse b/c it's pretty much always there in some form just like my UC. I occasionally get really bad colds or seasonal allergies that make me feel crappy overall.

I rarely get colds. I've had one in the past two or three years. Normal length of time. My immune system just keeps fighting things off. I think that's why it was so hard to get my UC in remission.

I rarely got colds before UC and if I did they were minor. Since getting UC, I don't get colds often, but when I do they are similar to the ones that I had when I smoked. Very severe, lasting at least 3 weeks.

I hardly ever get colds. When I do, I usually have a quick recovery. Now I need to go knock on some wood... That was hilarious, vanguard. "when it's not attackin me, my immune system is my pal." LOL
