My OBGYN told me to find out if I had any rectal disease at my last annual visit so I asked he GI and he said I have severe rectal disease and that if I had a vaginal delivery and tore or was cut too much that healing might be an issue and it could cause extreme problems. I am guessing that when I relay that info back to my OBGYN she is going to agree that a c-section would be the best route to go.
I've never really heard of probiotics....I'll have to give that a shot for the mouth sores. Seems like my GI always tells me what to expect and what is normal but not really how to treat it.
I strongly suggest a good probiotic (flaring or not, take them indefinitely), they're safe while pregnant as well, the sooner you get on them the better chances you'll have of some UC symptom relief...are you on rectal meds (since you mentioned inflammation in the rectom) because a good GI would have you on them if you have proctitis.
