How long did it take?

How long after pred did it take to lose the acne/rash on the face? Also how long till the cravings for food/sweets/salt go away?

I didn't get much acne, but the other side effects and backlash of the pred took over 1 month to resolve. I was on it 30 mgs for 2 weeks, tapering 5 mgs/week after that. Good luck!

Usually it's a week or two after I'm off of the pred. I notice a slight decrease each day after I'm off though.

It took about 4 to 6 weeks for me (20mg/day and 40mg/day). Never got the cravings, but acne all over face, back and chest. My family doctor prescribed a body wash called Clenia (done once daily) which knocked it down significantly while I was on prednisone.

Don't get the generic brand which doesn't have fragrance added otherwise you'll smell like a match stick all day because there is sulfur in it. I made that mistake only once.

With me, the acne was on my face and back and would slowly go away as I tapered off the prednisone. It will usually be gone when I get completely off it.
As for cravings, I think its all mental. I try to give up all sweets b/c of my UC and 3 years later I still find myself craving sweets.lol.
