Sore Right Shoulder?

My intense shoulder pain was caused by avascular necrosis, or bone death, as a result of steroid use. Your GI may or may not be helpful with this; mine sometimes isn't too helpful with extra-intestinal symptoms. If not, see your primary or and orthopedist to get the issue diagnosed.

i'm certain i have joint pain due to UC.
the absolute worst was once in the middle of the night. i had been sleeping on it but still, i should be able to sleep on it occasionally. and it was just out of no where. this was after diagnosis but before i had started any meds.
it was very intense and my husband finally made me a sling which held my arm out with a pillow between my arm and body in the only position that it wasn't painful. the next day it was just as bad and i called to start asacol that day.

now it comes and goes, i can rarely sleep on my right side. but it has never been as bad as that first time. maybe the asacol helps a bit with that inflammation...

otherwise i would say try alternating ice pack and heating pad. i do that and just baby it until it spontaneously goes away.

I've got a little arthritis in my right AC joint. I was told that one 'itis' usually follows another.
