My question is, has anyone experienced sores or itchy bumps with prednisone? I do get acne from the prednisone, but this is different. I started out with about
4 itchy bumps on my forearm that looked like just small pimples at first then got really itchy and swollen. I heal very slowly on the prednisone so before they healed up I got about
4 more on my forearm and one on my elbow, this was like 2 weeks later. Yesterday evening I noticed 3 more bumps. They itch terribly but I really don't think they are bug bites. I've washed my sheets several times, my mattress isnt old (someone at my work mentioned bed bugs!), and I never feel anything bite me.
I've had a doctor asked me if I had any skin "sores", why would he have asked me that? What does that mean?
I always have questions during the weekend when I can't ask my doctor. Grrrr.

You need to have them looked at it could be any number of things including a staff infection. See your doc.

I have been doing a little research and found that bed bugs carry up to 28 different pathogens. They say it is extremely rare to get infected from a bed bug.
I got UC a week after sleeping in a house with bed bugs. Go figure.

Last time I was on pred I thought I had poison ivy, but then decided it wasn't. I had bumps like this on the insides of my arms and backs of my legs. I thought maybe it was eczema, but it may have been related to the pred. Of course, it seems weird to get itchy rashes when on steroids. Don't they give people steroids for poison ivy and itchy rashes?
I know there are certain skin rashes that are extra-intestinal manifestations of UC. They seem more serious than itchy bumps, though. Maybe that is why a doc was asking about
your skin. Also, Imuran causes an increased risk of skin cancer, so if you were on 6mp at the time, maybe they were checking on this.
