Anyone have hyperthyroidism?

I have been researching it on the internet and I think there is a very good chance I have this. I have almost every symptom associated with the disease. Just wondering if anyone else has this and how it has affected their colitis.

To clarify my original post, I have had all these symptoms since I was a kid, which was long before I got diagnosed with UC. Also, I'm not on any medications for my UC right now. This could explain why I could never get my azathioprine levels into the therapeutic range. My doctor always said my body was probably metabolizing it too quickly for it to be effective.

hypothyroidism is something I am currently looking at, I should have results back in a few weeks that will tell me if I have the condition or not, but it does run in the family. There are connections between hypothyroidism and candida overgrowth according to my nutritionist...so maybe there's a link to uc as well.

Many thyroid disorders, like UC, are autoimmune disorders. It's well known that people who have one AI disease often have others as well. I had Graves disease of the thyroid. I slept 3 hours a night, had terrible hot flashes, palpitations, absolutely couldn't tolerate our hot Texas summers and lost weight rapidly (the only positive thing!) When I got to the endocrinologist, he told me my heart rate was 120 - dangerously high. It was successfully treated and now I take a thyroid supplement daily.

I developed AI arthritis several years before the Grave's. I developed UC several years later. In the past three months I've developed eczema. I just sit back and wait to see where my immune system will attack next.
