Starting to flare

Hi, ive had UC for 10 years, i've been healthy for the last 3 years on azathioprine, but i know im starting to flare right now, loose stool, looks like some blood in stool, and mucous, gas, etc., all the great symptoms that come with this great disease, anyways im wondering what new drugs/treatment people are on, i know starting steriods before the symptoms get really bad makes a huge difference thats why im going to call my doc on monday and start dealing with this, but obviously im not looking forward to steriods, and since i havnt been on steriods for 3 years what kinda dose are people taking, there is no blood coming out on its own just a little mixed into the stool........thanks
