HOw will I know if my inflamation is healing? another colonoscopy?

So how will I know if things are healingup other than not running to the bathroom ?

I assume they wont do another colonoscopy for along time right ? Is there any way to judge how your insides are doing other than how many trips to the bathroom you make ?

My stool samples and blood work showed nothing. But my entire colon is inflamed they say.

That's the best way to be sure, take an actual look. I'm going for a colonscopy in October, by which time I'll have been 2 1/2 yrs since DX and 15 mos on Remicade. I've never achieved 100% remission in that time and my GI and I want to see if there is any healing. I am trying to decide if it's time for "the cure" yet and before deciding to go under the knife and do something more irreversible than a tattoo I want to see if it truly is needed. Last fall I was extremely sick and I am feeling better and stronger now (although still not in good remission) and if I am going to have surgery while I am relatively healthy would be the best time. But first, I want to see how the colon actually looks.

It's not the most pleasant experience, but it's not THAT awful.
