Okay, so not only am I looking in the bowl every single time, and doing hygienic gymnastics to try to see what's in there before the TP drop, now I'm using a flashlight.

My sweet little daughter's CINDERELLA flashlight.

Funny? Or just plain warped? Oh, what does it matter...

I have a flashlight in the bathroom...a small one. A friend once asked me why I have one there. Gulp...."well, it's handy from wherever we are in case there's a black-out". lol!

I always have the lights on during the day, and I have used a flashlight..

This is too funny.
It seems I have thrush in my throat (a side effect of steroids), and asked my husband to let me look in his throat with a flashlight, so I could compare. He couldn't figure out how to get his big fat tongue out of the way so I could see all the way back, and he finally said he had enough of that!

I understand about the gymnastics, but never thought about using a flashlight. How's the Cinderella flashlight work for you? I might have to go out and myself one...

Sad to say, folks, Cinderella has been retired from duty. My husband just got home from running a 100-mile ultramarathon and brought back the household's regular supply of flashlights. (Yes, he and I are leading very different lives at the moment; I'd be excited to make it through Target without leaning hard on my cart...) I've now got an ordinary little black Maglite tucked in a handy spot. BORing.

In any case, I would have preferred Sleeping Beauty.

about the gymnastics part. I guess most of us "look." I was at a large airport last Christmas and they had an electronic eye thingy that, as soon as I stood up, flushed everything so fast it was ready for the next person before I could even turn around. It felt weird and struck me as funny.

I know all about the gymnastics - but to make it even more fun, the floor under the toilet is not quite level and the toilet rocks! I'm afraid I'm going to fall off some day - yikes!

We have another toilet that turns a bit on it's base... Three toilets in this house and only one is secured properly! The two "broken" ones are on the hubby's to-do list...

Or maybe my bum is just a jinx! hahaha

i make sure to twist a different way each time to look back and in the bowl to check out the poos!
to build up the muscles equally on both sides.
i look at the tp too.
and i usually forget to close the bathroom door and my hubby walked by once and saw me looking at the tp and he makes fun of me now. haha
too funny. i got caught!!

flashlight would be good cuz my arse really blocks the light comin in the bowl. hahahaha

No way could I look while sitting there.  Gotta get up and hang my head over the bowl with my flashlight (hope I never get caught by my husband - he will take me to the "looney bin".  HEE HEE!!

I think my husband is already convinced I'm bonkers. I told him I started this Cinderella flashlight thing, and he said, "Do you really think you should be posting stuff like that on the internet?" Okay, so maybe it's Too Much Information, but I really needed a laugh, and you guys have kept the laughs coming since.

emory - looking at your profile looks like mine - although I think my UC goes up left side further.  Anyway, I used Canasa (some results), Proctofoam (little more results but still bleeding).  Bleeding has stopped since Rowasa for about a week (then side effects caused me to quit on my own).  Going to see NP Friday and find out next step.

Also, I tried Primal Defense on recommendation of a friend with Crohns.  She swears by it but made me too gassy.  I tried it twice with time inbetween.  Now taking Align which seems to be working great so far.

Thanks, Elaine! I am alternating Proctofoam with hydrocortisone suppositories for now. Canasa and Lialda seemed to be making me have really bad nausea, weight loss, and insomnia, especially around my period. So I'm waiting for one period with no 5-ASAs in my body to see how I feel, and if I'm not nauseous then once it's through I'm going to try Rowasa enemas and see if I can get the bleeding knocked back, knowing that I may feel rotten in the meantime. Sounds like it helped for you!

emory - I hate it that what helps me the most causes me other illness including same as you - nausea, headaches, dizzy, etc., etc.  BUT - no weight loss - I have no problem with that unfortunately as I am 70 lbs. overweight.  AND - I am 68 so "periods" don't affect me anymore thank goodness.  I will keep watching your posts to see what works.  I assume you don't have diarrhea or urgency - that was gone soon with me but then came the side effects I could not tolerate anymore.  I would be willing to "TRY" again if necessary - we have to do what we have to do.

Not only do I use a flashlight, I go on a baby wipe and then take it to the counter and check it all out with the flashlight, magnifing glass and a toothpick. It's crazy!!! This disease has made me crazy!!! LOL.
