Anyone familiar with a hida scan or a mrcp scan ?

I ended up in the hospital all weekend with a high liver count and other wierd bloodwork levels they thought it might be ulcers from asocol but now say it appears to be gallbadder but the cat scan and ultrasound didnt show any stone although they suspect on is in the duct since my pancreas and liver has issues. Antibiotics seemed to calm it all down and I was on nothing by mouth for 4 days.  I then had a hida scan which showed no ejection after 20 minutes . What does that mean ??  Now they want a mrcp scan.  Anyone know anything about any of this ?  ITs also possible that I passed the stone and wouldnt have any more trouble.

An MRCP simply put is an MRI that consentrates on the bile ducts of your liver. It's done exactly the same way a regular MRI is. I had one done about 2 years ago when I also had elevated liver enzynes appear in my bloodwork. Having UC makes us "canidates" for liver, gallbladder problems. Your Dr. may be checking to see if you have developed PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis). Which is narrowing or blockage of your bile ducts. If you google it there is plenty of info on this. FYI an MRCP is a very easy test an completely painless. Just think of it as an MRI.
