Remicade

When I was on remicade I had no reactions or side effects whatsoever. The worst part was having to sit through a hour and half long infusion. It didn't start working until my third treatment and then it worked for about six months before I developed anti-bodies to it. When it did work though it made me feel very near normal, but not quite 100%. remission.

I've been on it for several years and it's been wonderful for me and so far has kept me in remission from day one. I haven't had any reactions to it, and I'm now on what they call the fast track; one hour infusions. So, total time it takes me; about 1 1/2 hours.

I'm going in for IV #3 tomorrow, my first one was on a Monday and by that friday I was having less pain and by week 2 I was seeing formation in the stools. I was one of the lucky ones that responded quickly. Today I'm having regular formed movements once or twice a day at most and no discomfort or urgentcy.

To my husband's dismay I can now pass gas without worrying it might not just be gas and running to the facilities.. .. oh the fun gas wars we've had has been worth the time I sit for the iv! (o:

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be a part of this web site. I have enjoyed reading all of your inspiring comments. I have UC, or I think. I have been on the Remicade infusions for almost 3 years only to be told by my new doctor, I may have UC, or Crohn's. I also have IBS. I have been trying to do my own research on these illness, but they are all so much alike. Today I read information about another one called, "Pancoitis" and I have had and still have some of the same symp. I want to stop the Remicade Infusions, but am afraid of the outcome. I know this is a lot for a first timer, but just have so many questions and am praying for some answers. Does anyone know what could happen if you stop the Remicade Infusions?
