I have been on various doses of Prednisone/Entocort/Asacol/6-MP (Currently on Prednisone and 6-MP) for almost a year now. I have noticed huge differences in my hair which drive me nuts. I have long (down to the middle of my back) straight hair that used to be pretty thick. Over the past few months it has been falling out in huge clumps daily. My shower, bathroom sink and bathroom floor are absolutely covered every morning from it falling out. I have tried special shampoos, vitamins, not using a hair dryer, etc without any luck. I do have hair growing back which sticks out all over the top of my head so i am happy it is growing back. I have also noticed the texture is changed dramatically. It is very dry, brittle and frizzy. My hairdresser told me to try and let it 'go curly' but it just doesnt do that, it just gets VERY frizzy if i go that route. At this point i am assuming it is from the medications but i don't know how to take care of it. Do i go ahead and cut it short until i am done with my medication? Is there something else i can try to make it look somewhat normal and not a frizzy crazy mess? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
