I've been reading this book - it's good I thought know your enemy and all that and reviews on Amazon seem to say it's easy to understand for a biology/immune system book.
Anyway I was reading how a certain part of the immune system (neutrophils?) attack foreign bodies and one way these may be identified is if they (the bacteria, invaders etc) are surrounded by carbohydrates which is quite common for bacteria or viruses to have and an easy way for our immune system to detect invaders. Which got me thinging about the specific carbohydrate diet - the creator/author seemed to think it was more about not digesting food properly and feeding bacteria but I wonder if our immune system could attack carbohydrates in our food.
hope you all had a good weekend.
