I know some of you guys out there may be like me -- 4 Lialda a day for life, flare or no flare. I am currently flaring and thinking about some different options (tried prednisone for a while and then rowassa and cortifoam enemas for a while, which helped a bit but not much). I'm thinking if I could just reduce some symptoms and try to be healthier, I might be able to get out of this rut.
There are only two things I'm really bothered by besides the blood/mucus in stool that's really more of an abstract worry for me than a problem: waking up in the morning to cramping and urgency. I usually wake up around daybreak, 5 or 6 am and go back to sleep for a few hours, then wake up and go a couple more times well before I'd like to be up. Since I work usually from 10:00 am ish until well into the evening, this has not been good for my schedule.
My question was, does taking Lialda at night before you go to sleep help at all? Or staggered throughout the day? I have been taking my 4 pills at around 11 am since I was prescribed them. If this doesn't have any affect at all, what are some other ways to deal with this cramping/urgency in the morning?
