LIALDA or ASACOL

I have been on Asacol for six years.Last year I decided to change it for Lialda. 3pills a day. After taking Lialda for few days I started flaring.I stoped to take it and started Asacol . Last week I decided to try Lialda again. And again the same result. Today I feel pain and I am afraid to start flairing. I do not undestand why Lialda does not work for me as Asacol. It the same meds. I hope to hear from others about taking Lialda. Carlos

I think Lialda got my year-long flare under control. I took Asacol for a month or two but it was very hard to remember to take it three times a day and it didn't help my flare.

I always thought Asacol made me worse but it was hard to know for sure. I wonder if I should try Lialda??

Carlos..how many asacol were you on?

Where in the colon is your UC..limted or throughout?

What symptoms were you having that you considered it a flare?

Have you never been on any rectal meds as well?
