I tried to get term life from Aflac just in case something bad happens to me while my children are young. I ride my bike to and from work run quite a bit. Pretty healthy.

I smoke. :) no problem Aflac says that will only be about20 extra bucks a month.

UC..................screech brakes halr, tons of questions, 3 week wait. They say no life insurance for you. Bummer.

Does anyone have any life insurance ideas? I did a search and came up short. blush

I had life insurance about 10 years ago and I am trying to remember the company that I went thru. It was a lot more expensive since I had UC but we had to drop it because we couldn't afford it anymore. If I can remember the name then I will let you know - I'm not even sure if they are still in business to tell the truth.

I just did a search myself and if you put in high risk term life insurance in the search bar, there are alot of hits.

See if a professional association you could belong to has something. It might even be worth joining one to get some insurance.

Thank you for teh advice. calling my state farm rep in the AM. I work with ionizing radiation too. Just need to make sure teh family is taken care of if i keel over before the kids are adults.

I had a Garden State Life policy where they don't ask any questions besides smoking.

I'd like more input on this as well since I need to increase my life insurance. Will call my State Farm agent though.

I have some through my employer (only $150k) and I tried to get more last year ($1mil) when I was really ill. I went through my financial advisor and he sent in applications through 5 different places. Two denied me outright and the other three came in with really high premiums. I don't have any kids (am married) so it isn't a huge priority right now. He said to try again maybe next year when I'm not on prednisone and haven't had any procedures done for over a year (like colonoscopy.)

I also ride my bike to work everyday!
