As it has been posted many times, our joints etc. hurt while flaring.  We have also discussed our hands.  I am getting better w/ each day - Praise the Lord!  My joints aren't hurting as they were and I am not having the D as bad.  My hands are improving no more swelling during the night - yeah yeah!  However, they are still stiff in the a.m.  Does anyone else experience this?  If so, when in full remission does this go away as well?  Of course, I understand I will always have a bit of discomfort w/ my hands due to arthritis, but since the uc it's been worse.  Just wondering if this improves when in full remission.

It's horrible when our hands start to hurt :( We do so many things with our hands that we tend to take them for granted until we have limited use of them. I have had issues with my hands for a long time and yes they tend to hurt a bit more when I flare. Once the flare settles down then they feel a tad better. I found that heat does wonders for my stiff hands and in fact, I got a parrafin wax machine a couple weeks ago and I use that 2-3 times a day and it is pure heaven! :)

LOL, Red, I knew you would be the first to post on this thread! Ahhhh, parrafin wax! What a great idea - I will have to purchase the machine and was next week! And yes, we do use our hands sooo much, especially here at HW! Amazing my keyboard still works on my computer!

Once again, you have helped me feel better and normal! The other med that I emailed you about is working as well by the way. Feels good to not be in so much constant pain!

:) Lol, I've had to replace a couple keyboards already just by responding to posts here on HW! I'm glad that other med is working for you. It's always nice to feel good or at least better isn't it???

Oh and btw, the parrafin wax is also great for your nails and cuticles too. I have extremely dry cuticles that crack and snag on things so the wax has started to give me more moisture in them. But I can definately relate to pain in the hands! I have carpal tunnel (though it hasn't bothered me much lately), tendonitis, trigger finger, cysts in the joints (they pop up randomly), and arthritis. There are times I just want to chop my hands off from the pain!
