painful bump

OK has anyone had a hard painful bump on the back of there head?  It's on the right side near the botton of my hair line.  It just started a few hours ago when i work up from a nap.  I just started 100 mg. of 6mp about a month ago and didn't know if it could be a side effect.  Thank You for your Help

Hmm I'm not sure. I have a hard painful lump in my armpit right now, like the size of a small pea. Not sure what it is either. Never noticed anything on my head though, and I don't know if that would be because of the 6MP or not.

Than you anyways. I think am going to call my Doc tomorrow if it's still painful.

Maybe you guys are having issues with a boil...of course it's best to have a doc take a look at it.

Yeah, get these things checked.

EdieK, the armpit thing: that is how I discovered I had MRSA, the antibiotic-resistant staph that can be very, very serious if not treated. Can't know how I got it, I use a home gym, but I suspect it might be related to using public restrooms so much!

Hmm I've had something similar before. Is it hard or squishy like its fluid filled? How big is it? I get ingrown hairs on my ALL the time. They hurt like a mother until they heal. I'd see the doctor for the peace of mind though

Thank you guys, I'm going to call the doc today and see what they say. I have an appt. on the 15 of Dec. so if i can't get in at lease i won't have to long to wait. I keep you guys posted and thank you again. I love this place :)

I'm sorry sbauer07 it is about the size of an eraser and it hard and doesn't move and very tender. Isthis how you feel with ingrown hairs?

What you may be feeling is an enlarged lymph node. I used to get them frequently before being diagnosed with Uc. I have had a couple since then and they are very painful. Enlarged lymph nodes can be an indication that your body is trying to fight off an infection even if you don't have any other symptoms. Since you are on an immune suppressor, definately have this checked out.

Interesting.. That's kind of scary about the MRSA!! I work in a hospital surgery department too and we get MRSA patients in here a lot, though I never come into direct contact with them but I am on an immune suppressant. I had blood work done the other day and my white blood cells and platelets were way up, and the hemoglobin was way down so I will be sure to bring up the lump to my doctor as well. It isn't bothering me today but I may as well mention it!

My MRSA lumps were hard but eventually got squishy and drained, just like an ingrown hair (and they probably were, when I think about it -- in my pit and along my panty line), but these would not go away so that's why I had them checked. Now I notice everything with my skin heals faster so I may have had it for a while.
