Flare w/ out blood?

Is it possible to be in a flare without blood? In the beginning of my flare I had blood, but I haven't had blood for the past few days but I'm still going 15 plus times a day on certain days. Is it possible to still be in flare even though I don't see any blood?

I've never seen blood. I was flaring for over a year and never saw it. We never knew why...

Yes, it is possible to be flaring and not see blood. Have you talked to your GI to see if you can up or add any meds, like rectal meds? Hope you feel better soon.

Absolutely....inflammation has increasing stages, only once the lining becomes friable (fragile) does it bleed. I don't bleed with flares any more, but I treat extremely early at first symptoms by increasing the rectal meds.

I would suggest you use them.

You could use Metamucil smooth or other fibre supplement (make sure not one with artificial sweeteners) to help bulk up the stool.

If it's continuing, you might ask the doc to give you a kit for stool samples to have tested.
