I was on pred from august of 06 til march of 08. I gained about 60 lbs. since i got off in march I have lost about 45 lbs without really trying.

This has happened one other time. I was on pred from jan 98 til dec 00 and gained about the same. It really tooka year to be back to normal again.

Some people only gain a little with pred but i was never one of those. However i won't have to deal with it again. I was steroid dependent so I can't use it again.

I was on it for about three months and I gained about 10lbs. I think it was mostly water retention - I lost it in about a month after stopped the pred.

I have gained 15 pounds in 3 months on pred. Last time I was on it I gained about the same and lost it within a month of going off of it.

Managed to put on around 30lbs on the pred. Since I realised what was happening, have managed to lose 8lb or so, although still on the pred. Largely a question of drinking lots of water when I feel hungry and just saying "no" when I have the munchies!

I managed to keep my weight gain at 15 lbs after two years on Pred, and the first few lbs went right off, but I'm having trouble with the final six. Thank goodness I didn't gain any more than what I gained!!

Been trying to get back to the gym at least -- that ought to help.

I don't remember how long I was on it but I do remember that I gained about 10lbs and I had the giant moonface and I lost it all within a month

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones here. I went from 220 last feb before I was diagnosed, started loosing weight with the flare, was down to 200 when I was diagnosed in aug and started on pred. I then dropped to 179 real fast. about a month ago a went back up to 184. I now have been stayin at 184. But I watch my diet alot better than I did before This flare ( my first ). Doc just started tapering me from 30mg. Guess I'll see what happens next as I go off pred. AM hopin for 180 as a steady weight. At 220 I was up happy. At the top end of the charts for my height and frame. 180 is the bottom end of the charts. I do however have the moon face ( a little ) and My belly looks bloated.
