A balance of both soluble and insoluble are best of course, as long as you incorporate enough fibre daily it's much better than too low or none at all and if you have issues with fibreous foods then definitely use supplements....I statred with supplements (which I still take) but am easily able to tolerate eating fibreous foods now without getting all gassy and bloated.
DO NOTE: Initially fibre can cause excessive bloating and gas this is completely NORMAL and happens to healthy people as well, it's just your system adjusting to it but once it adjusts it is WELL WORTH IT, took me 3 months to adjust and I don't regret a single day....I've been taking it daily for 5 yrs now with no issues (I use Prodiem bulking supplements, it's similar to metamucil tabs).
Less poops, formed poops, no more mucus (in conjunction with using it with bee propolis daily too)....most definitely worth it!
