How long do you use Entocort usually?

I was first put on with for 8 weeks: 3 pills for 6 weeks, 2 pills for 1 week, and 1 pill for 1 week. I see on Entocort's site that they have other options for continuing remission:

For induction 9 mg once daily -
(three 3-mg capsules each morning) Up to 8 weeks with repeated 8-week courses as necessary

Entire dosing cycle of induction and maintenance can be given for recurring episodes of active disease

I am having a problem with blood right now. I am taking tetracycline for acne. It is an antibiotic. I am looking for a substitute right now. My derm gave me clindamycine today, but I cannot use it. I think doxycycline is next. Who knows. I just hope the blood goes away.

I have had reactions to 5asa, sulfa, humira, immuran, etc. Prednisone was awful to me, as many others. Entocort is the one thing that can make me somewhat normal. I go in spurts, currently I am taking 3mg entocort daily with 500mg of cipro. This combo plus the remicade has actually put me very close to remission (fingers crossed). My GI doesn't mind me taking it as long as I'm not bleeding! It's a wonderful drug and I would've had to remove my colon without it. I say take what makes you feel like a person!!! Good luck!
