My hair is falling out like crazy

I am kind of worried because my hair is falling out a ton for the past week, every shower I take I pull out huge balls of hair. I just got off of prednisone three weeks ago. Also about 3 months ago was when I got diagnosed with UC and i was hospitilized for it. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know why this happens and if it will grow back? I am worried because I am a 22 year old woman and in college and it's embarrassing with hardly any hair on the top of my head.

Hi there! I too lost a lot of hair from prednisone and was hospitalized for my proctitis last year. I was on IV steriods in the hospital. My stylist said the last time she cut my hair that it was "growing back"...and to be honest it was falling out when i was on prednsione and a few months after. Now, and I have not had the drug since September it is relatively back to normal. Good luck!

Give it more time. You only just got off the Prednisone three weeks ago.
