I only just discovered Probiotics supplements with my third and last flare. My GI did not mention them to me when I had my second flare about two years ago.

How long have you been taking Probiotics? Do you feel they are making a difference?

I took Garden Of Life probiotics for a while - seemed to make a difference at first. I am using Cultrelle right now - I think I like GOL better, and may switch back.
I have taken probiotics on / and / off for a few years now.... I'd say that they make enough difference for me to keep using them.

I have been on Pro-Bio for about 2 years now. I think it makes a world of difference. It doesn't really stop the symptoms for me but it.........I dunno how to describe it - like my gut is more settled maybe? Like I feel something is "right"? It definately has helped with that liquid gooey feeling you get in your gut when when it's unsettled.

I go through phases where I take them and where I don't. To be honest, I don't notice much difference.

I take Align and really didn't think they helped much until I ran out.  I bought some after third day without - keeps my stool solid, formed, even with blood that is much better to me.  No D while taking it.  Been on it about 8 months since doctor gave me samples.

I took Cultrelle for a while but I don't think I stayed on it long enough so I am thinking about starting back up
The stuff I really want to try is too expensive - I forgot the name. It would be over $100 a month so I cant do it right now. I feel so guilty that all our extra money goes to my health and I can't even work right now

I started taking Custom Probiotics' six strain powdered blend in the early days when I was extremely ill. I told the owner of the company if his probiotics would keep me from a third annual trip to the ER in early spring, I'd write a testimonial for him. They did; I did and I've been using probiotics ever since. In addition to Custom Probiotics, I've also had good luck with Natren's products and with Dr. Mercola's probiotic.

started out on GNC's basic probitioc. then about a week or so ago on the advice of my Pharm, i switched to florajen3. Can't really comment on how much they help because I started takin them almost as soon as I was diagnosed. At same time doc was putting me on meds and Pred. To scared to stop takin them at this point to test them out. Will attempt that experiment at a later date. All I can say is my doc says they can't hurt and my pharm believes in them. And no he's not trying to just sell me drugs because the one he recomended is carried by the old pharmacy he used to work at, his current pharmacy doesn't even carry them. I had to go to the old pharmacy to buy them. He didn't get anything for recomending this particular one.

I take Renew Life Ultimate Flora critical care, Nature's way L. Reuteri, Bifidus, Jarrow S. Boulardii. It totals about 60-80 billion a day. I ramp up when I begin to flare.

I use probiotics as a preventative supp. Been using them for many years. Often the effects are not immediate and noticeable, but they tend to have a cumulative effect. When flaring the efficiency goes down of the supp due to high transit time and frequent BM's not allowing them to colonize the GI tract properly.

I take them with a fiber supp to slow down passage and give them something to snack on.

Primadophilus Reuteri made by natures way for the last 4 ys and yes they've helped with cutting BM's back, if they didn't I wouldn't likely be taking them 4 yrs later and continuing.

     Not sure if it is the probiotics, the meds or the combination of them all but I am in remission since Nov 1st.  My last flare was horrible, lasted for seven months.  This last hospitalization was when my GI doctor put me on the probiotics.  I don't think he knew much about them before this.  They gave me Flora Q in the hospital but they are quite pricey.  My nutritionist recommended Powerdolphilus by Country Life.  I order them over the net.   A LOT cheaper than the flora Q.  I take two per day.  I also take a fish oil capsule daily.  Not sure if that helps but I, like Sherry, feel better in my gut.
