Remicaide dosage change

Has anyone ever had more dosage of remicaid. I am not responding well to it anymore after 2 years. I go every 8 weeks and receive the standard amount. But now, my Dr. wants to keep me going every 8 weeks but receive a higher dosage of this. Any luck out there? Advice?

after being on Remicade for several years at 5mg/kg, back in August of 2008 my doctor increased the dosage to 7.5mg/kg as I wasn't responding to it as good as I used to.  And now after several infusions of 7.5mg we're going up to 10mg/kg for my next infusion as I'm still not responding to it well enough.  I'm just afraid that 10mg/kg will not have any effect.  Remicade has been my wonder drug for soooo long.  I'm also on 8 week infusions.   My doc tells me that 10mg/kg is the standard dose for RA patients but that I have been on a lower dosage from the beginning.  I have also heard from nurses at the infusion center where I go that they know a lot of patients who develop immunity to Remicade.   I hope this helps.

I am on 10 every 4 weeks

We went for 5mg per kilo to 10 mgs per, in about 8 weeks. The first dose (ever )helped, and the 2nd and 3rd did not change much--edge of a flare. The last does of 10 mgs, kicked in a stabilization that has lasted 3 whole weeks..
Don't give up. We are ok for now and holding our own for the first time in a year.

Hi I had been on the same dosage of REMICADE as  you....then it started to loose its efectiveness. As a last stab attempt my Dr. has put me on double the amount (10 something) and I go for infusions every 4 weeks..........and I'm finally starting to feel better.My DR said if this dodnt work, they were going to switch me to HUMIRA but I would have to give myself the shots....EWWW  so I hope I can stay with the Remicade.
