Hi all,   With all this talk about peanuts and the Salmonilla illnesses,  it made me recall that my son, the one who has colitis,  had salmonilla as a baby.  We had a sick turtle, and that is how he got it.  Anyway,  I was wondering if that fact had something to do with him developing Colitus later in life.  Also,  I hate to askk this again, but what is the  name of that Vitamin designed especially for IBO sufferers?

I wrote it down somewhere and cannot find it.  Thanks.

Did you mean IBD?

I think there's always some trigger for each person. We just really can't tell what it may have been.

There is a form of Colitis called Salmonella Colitis. It tends to simulate Ulcerative Colitis.

Has your son officially been diagnosed with UC...if yes, he has UC. Yes, it could have been set in motion at an early age, possibly with very minimal inflammation continuing throughout his life. If he suffered through lots of constipation or bouts of diarrhea, it could have been UC and IBS..

How old is your son? You might consider to make a signature with some of that information so that it's clear for us reading your posts.

How is he doing at this time?.

While I'm certain my UC was caused by taking Accutane in my early 20's, I remember the first symptoms were triggered when I had some kind of stomach bug. They have been with me ever since.
