hi, i have a very embarassing question.  i am just wondering what a hemmoriod looks like as i have something aroung the rectum that i just wish was not there.  its like a little mole like thing that i really hate being there.  does anyone else have this?

Could it be a skin tag? I have one from a hemmie that was really bad. Or it might be a hemmie.

Do a google image search for both and you might figure out what it is.

it does seem like it may be a skin tag, it does not hurt at all.  what are they caused from and how can i get rid of it? removal by a dr?

I have one of these...i asked my GI if I can remove it (It does bother me a lot, and I don't want my hubby to see it blush )...she said that only sergent can do it...

I think all skin tags are from previous hemmies...that's what mine is from at least. Mine doesn't hurt at all either. I just have to wipe carefully to make sure it gets clean. They only way to get rid of them is through surgery, but I would rather just leave mine be b/c I can't see how that surgery wouldn't be painful.

Actually no, not all skin tags are from hemmies, there are skin tags that are from crohn's and they are very different then hemmies...see this link...

The first set of pics are hemmies, the set of pics below that are perianal crohn's skin tags (related to crohns disease only), any UCer with skin tags should be checked by a good colon and rectom surgeon to ensure they are hemmies and not the crohn's skin tags...my skin tags were misDX as hemmies and during a bad flare (which I didn't relalize at the time that that is what it was) they were banded like they do to hemmies and that was a huge mistake.

Never make assumptions, find out for sure.

That's good info pb4. I know mine is from a hemmie, b/c it got huge and hurt like and SOB when I had it (plus, I know I got it from pushing when I was in labor with my son). Then it finally shrunk into the skin tag that it is now. Or am I perhaps making a dangerous assumption here?

I'll look at your link when I'm home tonight...I don't think I want images of hemmies and skin tags on my computer at work!

I also have a skin tag that is NOT from CD. It is really annoying and makes it hard to wipe but my GI said that only a surgeon can remove it and I'm not going down that route right now.
