I don't know if this is just a coincidence but in my 8 years of having UC I pretty much always have a flare up around spring time. Last year I was started on Azathioprine. After a colonoscopy in Sept of last year I was told that some of the biopsies showed active disease so was told to using predsol enemas nightly for 3 months to "knock it on the head".
I had an appt 3 weeks ago and seen a different doctor one which I have never seen before who told me to decrease to one every second night. 1 week prior to this appt I started to notice signs that all was not good but decreased to every second night as he did not seem concerned but things feel like they are getting worse. Not terribly bad but when I am entering a flare my stomach aches a little and the stool is much less formed and increasing urgency but still no more than 3 times a day at the moment.
Do you think I will be able to ride this out or is it a "seasonal flare" and another bout of steroids will be needed. I thought the Aza would take care of this but if I am still going to have a yearly flare up whats the point.
I will see how things go and will contact my Dr but in the past I have always felt that they do not care unless I am up to about 8 bm's a day.
