how long before seeing dr

Hi i'm not really sure what to do i'm having the worst flare since being dx last may went to dr end of jan and got asacol foam 2 week course but that has now finished and am just using pentasa supps 1g nightly and 800mg x2 twice daily but the bleeding and mucus seems to be getting worse also my eyes are very blurry and i am just so tired all the time sometimes my knees wrists and toes just ache(not all the time) and to top it i'm not sleeping very well. If i went to dr what would they prescribe or would they just up asacol and see what happens when fist dx was on predfoam which helped almost straight away maybe could ask for that i only had bloods done mid jan but that was before this sorry this has turned into a bit of a rant but am so fed up with it should i wait and see what happens my dr is very good and can always get same day appointments

I would go to the doctor. I had a mild flare that I was treating with suppositories a few months ago and it turned into a much worse flare over time. I kept putting off going to the doctor because I didn't have insurance. By the time I went to the doctor, I was so fatigued, I could barely function. Blurry eyes would worry me the most, that doesn't seem right. I take more Asacol than you and I use a suppository morning and night. You could try increasing your dose but you should talk to your doctor first probably. Maybe you can give a call and explain the blurry eyes and body aches and get an opinion from your GI?

     UC can affect the eyes.  I'm sorry, I am not familiar with some of your meds.  Are they generic?  The doctor may increase your Asacol and put you on prednisone.  The aches in your joints could very well be UC related too.  That happens to me when flaring.
