Update

Hi to all,

Just letting those that were so kind to reply to me on Monday when I was feeling really miserable, in pain and very swollen. I ended up going to the doctor (GP was off duty so got another doctor), he wanted me to go to the hospital as I my stomach was so swollen and tender, I didnt see any point going to ER, he finally agreed to give me antibiotics--CIPROFLOXIN and told me to go to the ER if I didnt improve. Am glad to say I am much improved today.

I asked the doctor this question but he was a bit vague in his answer so can anyone answer it for me ---- I thought that antibiotics aggreviate UC and that they help crohn's so is it possible that I have crohn's as this is the second time that these antibiotics (Cipro) have helped me when im in a flare?  

I have my appointment with GI on the 1st of April. My biopsies on last colonoscopy showed resolving colitis, as I had previously been diagnosed with proctitis the surgeon is assuming it is UC but as there is a history (sister & nephew) with crohn's he hasn't ruled out the possibility of it being crohn's. Surgeon said the GI will need to do a small bowel follow through and maybe more test to confirm. Hence my query on antibiotics being a better treatment for crohn's rather than colitis.
