I have been on 6mp for about
8 weeks and recently it has been giving me really bad joint pain... arms, knees, wrists, legs, ankles... I told my doctor and she didn't seem too concerned. Any thoughts? Thanks so much.

This was not a symptom that we had, but You are right to be concerned. Don't ignore joint pain. More inflammation cannot be good. Call again, and ask him/her to look into this.

I've been on 6MP for over five years. I never had any joint pain while on it. The only side effect I noticed is the thinning of my hair. What is your dosage? I cut mine down from 75 mgm to 50 mgm because my white count was down to 2.4 and I didn't like that at all. It is up to 2.9 now. Not great but better.

I am taking 6 MP and have joint pain in right shoulder, but to be honest thought this was the side effect from the prednisone. See Dr today so will ask him about
it

My daughter was on 6MP for two weeks before she developed such bad joint pain she could not walk. We took her off of it and 2 days later she was fine. We have seen two different doctors who say it was not the 6MP giving her the joint pain which frustrates the heck out of me. I don't think I will put her back on it again. She was taking 50 mg. Hope you feel better soon

I have read that 6MP blocks the bodies absorption of B12 and Folic acid. With out those the body will have joint pain. I have been on 6MP for about
4 or 5 months now and the joint pain is just getting worse and worse. I had a visit with my GP a few weeks ago and he noticed that my B12 and Folic levels were low and had me go in for more blood work. I am now waiting on my results. So the way I see it 6MP can definitely be the result of joint pain. Have those levels checked to make sure that is not your issue. Most Gasro's test for you blood count levels to make sure your immunity is not being messed up too much. One of those things that can go missed unless you are looking for it. Food for thought.
