Once I took steriod pack for a week-no improvement

Once I took a steriod pack, like 5 pills one day, 4 pills the next day and so on for five days to help inflmmation and it didn't help at all. What was this type of steriod and how come it didn't work? Would you think it's like predinsone or a differenty type of steriod, if there different types?

I believe that prednisone is available in a pack like that, but I'm sure other steriods are as well. My guess as to why it didn't work would either be because the dose was too low, because a week wasn't long enough to heal the inflammation, or a combination of the two.

Those steroid packs usually called Solu-Medol packs are frequently low dose MethylPrednisolone 4mg and depending on what strength yours was, that might be the reason for it not being effective for you! These are frequently give to patients for swelling and inflamation. The Prednisone typically given for a flare is much stronger and ususlly for a much longer period of time. I would suggest you talk with your Doctor about it, and tell him/her that it was not effective for you!

Same stuff, but those are meant for systemic poison ivy, and probably other maladies.
It's not a regimen that will give your gut a chance to heal.

I took that steroid pack for a week for Bronchitis, and it worked wonders, with no side effects. I imagine the dose is very low.
