Responses to sulfasalazine?

For those of you who are capable of tolerating sulfonamides and have used sulfasalazine specifically, how did you respond to this drug? Has it or did it at one point induce remission? Have you found the side-effect profile to be bearable?

Sorry to say but I did not respond well to sulfasalazine ( although that was over 30 years ago and maybe the side affects are less now ) but I was also on prednisolone tablets too and whether it was a combination of the two I'll never know, because prednisolone taken orally I cannot tolerate. But I have heard many say that it is ideal for them. I have taken mesalaszine for all these years with good results. I am afraid it is rather "try it and see " I wish you Happy Healing all the same.
