Microscopic Colitis - comments or suggestions?

I was just diagnosed with Microscopic Colitis. i have been prescribed Entocort. Any comments /suggestions are welcomed. I am very wary of taking any steroids.

Entocort isn't as strong as some of the other steroids, so it shouldn't have as severe side-effects. I think it's wise to be wary of steroids, and to only use them under extreme circumstances, especially the stronger ones such as prednisone. Are you taking any other medicines?

I will be honest and say I really don't know a whole lot about MC but if I am not mistaken they use the same medications for MC as they would for Uc. Have you asked your doctor about any other medication you can take that isn't a steroid?

I read Pepto Bismol suppose to help microscopic colitis.

Hi...welcome to the forum!

Curious what kind of Microscopic Colitis you have....lymphocytic or collagenous?

Do you know if it's throughout your colon?

The Entocort is a topical steroid that's released at the beginning of the ileum.
