anyone know what GI will do?

i have been on pred for a while now...3 weeks or so...40 mg for the last 9 days....but bleeding is not stopping...he wants to see me tomorrow....i am only haveing 3 or 4 bm's a day....with blood and mucus.....taking 2 lialda a day as well as 40 mg of pred....not taking any rectal meds....do you think he will just add them....or what will he do....i'm still new to this stinking disease and both previous flares have responded immediately to pred.....i'm a little worried....i feel great except during and after bm....my rectum hurts for a while...sometimes 10 min, sometimes 30 or so.....but usually 8 hours between bm's.....please those with experience...should i request the rectal meds and try to stay the course to remission.....i know the stress i am going through does not help...and i am eating like crazy....not disciplined at all....i am in the middle of buying and selling my home this week, so maybe the extra stress is prolonging things...what do you all think?

Tough call, he/she may want to up your pred in take.  I've heard people on up to 60mg of pred to control their symptoms (bleeding).  I havent yet tried rectal meds so i can't really speak to that. 

Other then that, I feel your pain with stress.  My job is very stressful and sometimes almost blame my flare since diagnosis because of it. 

Take it easy and listen to your GI (if he/she is good).

may put u on some sort of enima like rowossa thats what they would do for me when the preg wouldn't work watch wat you're eating some foods will make a flare worse i know it sucks but cut back to like chicken and rice for a few days see if that helps also lots of herbal alternatives out there may help i took cactus juice and a crap ton of vitamons try and relax a lil stress does add alot to it don't worry to much your not outta control being your only going a few times a day so i don't think they'll jump to anything like surgery hope your feeling better soon and i helped a lil

     Seems like stress is contributing greatly to your problem.  I know from past experience that stress does a number on us with UC.  Try to follow a low residue diet and ask your doctor if you could take something to ease your nerves somewhat.  I take a low dose of xanax while flaring because prednisone makes me very jumpy too.  When my rectum starts to feel a little "iffy" I insert a cort enema from time to time.  Seems to do the trick.
