GI visit now confused

After spending over 2hrs being proded poked (flex sig done) and bloods taken for everything my GI is unsure if its U/C or chrons he is also cross as he does not have my notes from last hospital that have my colonoscopy results and is trying to chase them he is also testing me for coeliacs.He said colon looks better than 6 weeks ago but said he hopes that the steroids are not just marsking symptoms and if so mean asacol not working and need to try something else and wants to see me in 6 weeks as would have been off pred by then i am feeling in limbo and now have to just carry on as i am untill i see him i know he is doing all to help me but the waiting is going to be a killer.

Waiting is hard! Sometimes is it difficult for the doctors to tell the difference between UC and Crohn's. Celiac disease can also cause similar symptoms - cramping and D. However, celiac affects the small intestine, UC affects the large intestine (colon), and Crohn's can affect anywhere between the mouth and the anus.

Your exact diagnosis might not really affect your treatment anyway.
Have you stopped eating wheat/gluten? Try it if you haven't, don't wait. It made a big difference for me, although I have UC too.
